Romanian Adoptee Alex Kuch to talk in Brussels
The ASEFYLS3 forum will be in Brussels from 15-19th of October and on Ethical Leadership and from the 18-19th will be the 12th ASEM Forum where 51 head of states will be present, and where Alex will have the opportunity to share with high ranking international delegates about adoption perspectives that have been gained from the I’m Aodpted platform and community.
He will be gaining and sharing perspectives on youth that are relevant to international adoptions and will be sharing the lessons learnt from the research that was done on the experiences of adopted youth he carried out from the University of Auckland.
He will focus on the practical steps that can be taken that can be used to support adopted youth:
– Focusing on fostering a healthy self-identity ( who I am, biological and ethnic) discovery of adoptees
– Providing an overview for adopted youth guardians of challenges that will come up for adoptees when growing up
– What challenges youth might encounter when searching for their biological families
In addition, he will share that there is a greater need for adoption youth representation when global policy and best practices are formed and that constructive and forward looking solutions are going to be needed.
Good Luck Alex!
